In retrospect, 'Addicted', and in particular 'You Keep Me hanging On' perhaps should not have found their way on this compilation; at the same time, Acid House was but one of the styles of this era, and the early Italo/European influences can be heard in these tracks. That alone doesn't quite offer enough of a justification however, IMHO, as time has not been kind & they no longer hold their own. The rest however range from great, to utterly essential: 'House It Up' starts off so basic, & progresses into something deeper which just grows & grows on you, 'Passion' has one of the meanest acid lines going, 'Do You Wanna Jack' will evoke the response 'YES' (spot the 'House Nation' influence...), and 'No Control', 'No One' & 'Mad Men' are top notch Acid House Cuts. The pressing is QUIET, so much so you'll need to find a super clean copy, EQ the hell out of it & record while its fresh, otherwise the background noise will overpower as time goes on. So you really need to re-master these tracks yourself, & keep the record in the vault, which personally I find fun & part of the charm. Either way, some top notch Chicago action, bar a couple of stinkers!
